Non-Traditional Student Supporter Recognition

Nominate a professor or staff member on campus that has been sensitive to your needs as a non-traditional student!

Have you had a professor or encountered a MSU staff member who has been understanding and supportive of your needs as a non-traditional student? Would you like to let them know how much you appreciated their support?

The Family Resource Center invites you to recognize these professors and staff members by completing a short online form about how they’ve helped you. FRC will recognize these people by sending them a Certificate of Recognition along with a small token of appreciation in your name. There is no deadline, certificates will be sent shortly after your submission has been reviewed.

Each year the Family Resource Center will publish a listing of all those that have been recognized in public materials such as possibly The State News, MSU Newsbulletin, on our website, etc.

A non-traditional student is a student who is any of the following:

  • An undergraduate who is over 24 years of age
  • Married
  • A parent
  • Currently or formerly part of any of the U.S. Armed Forces
  • A commuter (travels 10 or more miles to attend classes)
  • The caregiver of a dependent elderly person or adult
  • Working full-time

To recognize a faculty or staff member, please complete an online submission.
