The Michigan State University Family Helpers List is sponsored by the Michigan State University Family Resource Center. The Family Resource Center acts as a clearinghouse for the convenience of student helpers and the clients.

A State of Michigan criminal background check is completed on each student when they apply. Please note that this search will only include convictions recorded in Michigan, and does not include driving records, or convictions received in other states. The FRC office can guarantee they are Michigan State University students at that time. However, the students have not been screened with skill tests or reference checks, and Michigan State University makes no representations to students or clients concerning their qualifications and nature of services provided. The student helpers are employed solely by the clients and are not employees of Michigan State University.

The clients and student helpers acknowledge that Michigan State University is not responsible for, and will be held harmless against any injury, loss, or other damage arising from or related in any manner to the client and student use of the Michigan State University Family Helpers service.
